Business As Usual - Only Better

Burn Jita is on but if not for some slight difficulty logging into a character in Jita and the constant lag tidi I wouldn't have noticed. For me it's mostly business as usual, flying billions in and out of Jita on autopilot.

Here's an example of one load I autopiloted into Jita today.

The only difference between today and my usual business is things are selling faster and for higher prices than normal.

Conclusion: Burn Jita isn't achieving it's stated objectives. To the contrary it's great for business. I wish they'd do it all year long!

Recall Program Scam

Scammers have started posting recall links and claiming they'll give anyone who uses their recall link 200 million ISK.

That's obviously a pile of crap since the recall program doesn't give you any information that can be used to identify who used your link. The only information available to you about your recall link is in the screenshot below.

There is absolutely nothing there that can be used to identify who used your link.

Furthermore, even if it was possible to identify who used your recall link, with a limit of 3 rewards per month (only 1 of which is PLEX and the last one at that) in most cases he'd actually be losing ISK by paying people 200 million ISK to use his link. In fact the only way he wouldn't be losing ISK is if he got *exactly 3 successfull recalls in a month, any less and he won't get a PLEX reward, any more and he's paying out more than the rewards are worth.

Eve Recall Program - Part II

A few days ago I posted about CCP's new recall program which allows active players to send 7 days of free time to anyone's old expired account which they can use to reactivate the account.

To qualify for reactivation you must be a previous subscriber of EVE Online and be unsubscribed for a minimum of 6 months.

Expired trial accounts are not eligible.

I included a secure recall link on CCP's website that anyone can use to get a recall from me.

Six days later, these are the results

So far 6 players have used the link to get the 7 days free time. None have resubscribed yet but if/when they do, I'll get credited with a Successfull Recall for each one and 3 Successfull Recalls can be redeemed for 1 PLEX.

If half of them wind up resubscribing, I'll get a PLEX for it.

Carriers and Capitals

Just another quick example of 1 days worth of buying on one character from more or less passive buys orders (orders I update very infrequently and mostly just let sit there until they get filled) on one of the main trade hubs.

The carrier and capital ship book purchases are particularly nice with anywhere from 40 million to 125 million ISK profit per book if I were to resell them at school prices. Of course that's not including taxes and fees which come out to approximately 10 million per book but then again I'll be reselling each book for at least 10 million and maybe as much as 50 million over the school price.

I should wind up with at least 400 million profit on just the carrier and capital books.

Though the buy orders had 10 jump range all of the carrier and capital books were sold to me directly on the hub so I didn't even have to transport them to the hub. In fact they were all sold to me by the same player and completely filled my buy orders for all 3 books. Maybe I should start buying 5 or 10 at a time instead of 2 or 4.

CSM Voting Recommendations

I've been working on figuring out who I'll vote for in the CSM elections this year for a while now. There are 8 candidates I'll be voting for.

6. Mike Azariah

8. James Argent

Four of these are players I already knew enough about to have a good idea of not just their experience, knowledge and abilities but even more importantly their attitudes and what they stand for.

The first two in particular are IMO the cream of the crop, the best of this year's candidates.

Ali is considered one of the best of the outgoing CSM, having earned a reputation as a responsible, hard working, thoughtful and very effective member. Voting for her again (as my number 1 choice this time) was a no-brainer.

Sugar is a well known, prolific blogger who's opinions and attitudes have always been wide out in the open on her blog Lowsec Lifestyle. I'm confident she has what it takes to be a strong CSM representative.

DNSBLACK and DJ Funkybacon are a both a bit opinionated and can be very outspoken but that's not necessarily a bad thing. They'll probably shake things up a bit at times but sometimes a little shakeup is exactly what's needed. At least with them around there's a chance we might actually hear about what the CSM is up to while it's happening rather than months later buried deep in some long, boring and very thoroughly censored edited CSM minutes transcription.

Riverini's Campaign post on CCP's forums convinced me to add him to the list. The way goons and pets attacked that post trying to discredit him helped his stock with me a lot too. If goons don't want him on the CSM that alone seems like a pretty good indication he might be a worthy candidate.

While  not exactly a ringing endorsement, at this time Mike Azariah is the only other acceptable candidate. There are a number of other candidates that might be acceptable too but there simply isn't enough information out about them yet to make a decision on. As more information comes to light I may (or may not) add others to this list.

Steve and James are late additions to the list. James is a wormhole guy, who probably already has more than enough support from the WH community to win a seat. Steve is a market and industry guy I knew almost nothing about until very recently. He probably needs more support to get elected. They were both added on 09 April, after the list was first posted.

And then there's the DO NOT VOTE FOR list.

Basically anyone from the major power blocs, especially the null blocs and particularly from goons and the cfc. The null blocs have way too much power already, the rest of us (high sec, low sec, wormhole and npc null players) need to counteract that by voting only for our own reps and NOT VOTING for null bloc reps.

Also includes the sociopathic types who get their jollies out of griefing, ganking, scamming, bullying and other disreputable activies and actually believe having complete freedom to be as big an asshole as possible is the only thing that matters in Eve.

CSM Candidates

I'm trying to figure out who to vote for in the CSM elections this year. It's still early and there isn't much information out about many of the candidates yet, so it's a short list so far. Right now there are only 4 candidates I'm certain I'll be voting for.

Then there's Psychotic Monk. In many ways he seems like he might be a good candidate too but in his campaign statement on Eve Vote Match Monk says "As the Pirate King, I am standing up for interesting and competitive gameplay in highsec."

I can't endorse Monk without knowing exactly what he means by "interesting and competitive gameplay in highsec". If it means what I think it does he won't make my voting list, but if it means something else there's a good chance he'll not only make the list but be high on it.

A couple others I'm considering but need to know more about are Xander Phoena and Mike Azariah. The rest are either candidates I don't know nearly enough about yet or candidates I know enough about to be certain I will not vote for them.

Edit: The more research I do into the candidates the more It's looking like Mike will make my final list and Monk won't. Also after reading Nosy Gamer's Endorsements I realized Xander is CFC so he's out! It's highly unlikely I'll be endorsing candidates from any of the major power blocs, particularly the null blocs and most certainly not from the CFC.

Financial Report - March 2014

Financial report for the month of March 2014 (last month). Trade oriented since trading is how I make virtually all of my ISK.

I buy and sell faction/deadspace/officer mods, ships, skill-books and implants with traders covering all 5 main trade hubs (Jita, Amarr, Dodixie,  Hek and Rens) plus secondary hubs in most other empire regions. I have 24 active traders, 3 on Jita (one each for mods, implants and skillbooks), 2 in another region, another 19 each covering a different region and a couple spare traders that are not actively trading.

In March, I spent an hour or two a day working the market and made a profit of 47 billion after expenses.

Current net worth is 506 billion with about half in cash and market escrow. Most of the rest is in sell orders and recently acquired stock I haven't gotten around to posting for sale yet. Very little is in assets I don't intend to sell soon, with maybe 4 billion worth of ships and mods I keep for my own use and a small stockpile of PLEX worth another 5-10 billion.

That's my actual current total net worth after expenses. It's how much I actually have right now, not just a running total of how much I've made (before expenses) over the course my Eve career. There's a big difference!

PS: I thought about posting an April Fools Day joke utilizing a 500 billion ISK sell order to break 1 trillion ISK. In the end I figured that'd be a little too obvious and an obvious joke just wasn't worth throwing 3.75 billion in broker fees down the drain for.
