Ship Fits - Fast Transport Vigils

As mentioned in yesterday's comments, here's that "better than a shuttle for fast transport" 2 second align Vigil fit I promised.

[Vigil - Fast Transport]

Inertia Stabilizers II

Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Eutectic Capacitor Charge Array
Eutectic Capacitor Charge Array
Eutectic Capacitor Charge Array
Eutectic Capacitor Charge Array

[Empty High slot]

Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Small Auxiliary Thrusters I

Stats with all Vs in relevant skills are:

594 / 3978 m/s speed (MWD off / on)
1.99 / 2.91 second align time (MWD off / on)
5 Au/s warp speed
250 m3 cargo capacity

Cost about 4 million ISK

Note the cap chargers are to get maximum use out of the MWD. IMO the best defense in a ship like this is speed so might as well optimize for more time at maximum speed rather than trying to tank it.

Or maybe you'd prefer a 3 second align fit with better normal and warp speed like this:

[Vigil - Light Transport]

Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Overdrive Injector System II

Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I
Eutectic Capacitor Charge Array
Eutectic Capacitor Charge Array

Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I

624 / 4324 m/s (MWD off / on) speed
2.74 / 4.01 align time (MWD off / on)
7.85 Au/s warp speed
200 m3 cargo capacity

cost about 3 million ISK

Notes:

1. All stats are with all Vs in relevant skills.
2. The first fit requires high agility skills to get align time under 2 seconds.
3. For low skills alts the 2nd fit with another nano replacing the overdrive works great.
4. The cap rechargers are particularly good for alts with low cap skills, especially if they don't have Warp Drive Operation V yet.

  1. Small thing, cargo cap listed as 250 in the top fit, and 200 in the lower... none of those fittings affect cargo space as far as i know...

    1. Nice catch, I accidentally posted a very slightly different 3 second align fit. One of those nanos should have been an Overdrive Injector, still keeping align well under 3 seconds but increasing speed a fair bit and decreasing cargo space.

Fixed the original post to reflect that.

    2. that makes much more sense. I was slightly worried that some other module got a cargo space percentage nerf handed to it in cronos and I missed it. Something like they did with the hull tank mods and rigs.

  2. mox, any ideas for a speed fit for the occator? im using 3 inert stabs2 with 2 null fiber2 and an over drive2 with an allign time of 8 seconds using a 10mn2 afterburner. got a better idea?

  3. That's a lot of agility affecting mods already but when I put that fit in pyfa it comes out to 9.78 sec align time with all Vs in skills.

That's 5 mods affecting agility, dimiinishing returns are already hitting pretty hard on the 4th and it's not usually worth fitting 5 or more. I'd actually recommend dropping one of the nanos for another overdrive or a DC-II. Unless you don't have Vs in all agility skills then you'll probably need it to stay under 10 sec align time.

Then again I never have and probably never will fly one myself. In fact if I did want a ship like that I'd pick the Sigil mentioned in the post from the day before this post. Similar cargo, but with better alignment time, tank and speed.

    1. Whoops, I missed the fleet hanger on the Occator. 2.5k + 62.5k m3. So ignore my comment about picking a Sigil over an Occator, with that fleet hanger an Occator actually has a lot more cargo space than a Sigil.

  4. i will try another overdrive and see what happens. i can get an 8 second allign with the afterburner on for one cycle. i have al 5's in navigation. i use the occator to haul stuff like isotopes to market. my main ship is the viator. an occator seems like a toad compared to the viator. :)
